Dusted and Salty Performance Salt

from €8.99

We're pretty proud of this one. Yep, still salt…but it is salt specially crafted for purpose! Designed to be that “little something special” that your fitness drinks (and routine) deserve!

| What's In It |

A specially curated, field-tested blend of salts and minerals combined with a special method of harvesting and preparation to create a truly exceptional experience with a “performance tilt".

There are a lot of great companies out there doing incredibly cool things for hydration, performance and electrolyte replacement…a few of us are loyal customers. But this product is different. It makes no claims. It is simply “a bit of magic” that your fitness drinks “seem to be missing but you just can't put a finger on it.”

NOTE (serious):

The Dusted & Salty Performance Blend does contain small amounts of activated charcoal. Activated charcoal is a wonderful mineral but can bind itself to medications, possibly reducing their efficacy. It is generally advisable to leave 1-2 hours time between taking medications and activated charcoal. Please, like anything here/elsewhere, make sure you consult your healthcare provider if you are taking any medications.

We're thinking - thanks to our flawed human condition (re: our AI Disclosure) of “consensus bias” - that you are exactly like us and work extremely hard.

Gym, track, trail, court, studio, field…(yeah, we're still going)...pool, trapeze, slope, circuit, etc. (finally!) Wherever it might be. You are there. You show up.

Naturally then, we're guessing you are also “fitness drinking”...probably a lot. Fitness drinks are great - products and self-made - but they can get a little “NPC-y”. That's where you HAVE to go for D&S_P!

Origin Story

Truly the NPC-iness of our fitness drinks was the catalyst for this particularly salty quest. There is definitely (again) some overconfidence in there, but we felt like there was just something "missing” from our ritual.

And the story was the same for a few of us here…a shared cycle of boredom. The common tale:

Use something for a while, get bored, blame the product and break up with it…leaving for the sexy new thing we saw on the high street. Only to get bored and go back. (What? No. There is no real-world metaphor here.)

Boredom isn't that big of a problem. But…then we did the math, this cycle of try, switch, try, switch, etc. was: 1) creating a lot of unnecessary waste (sorry, Earth) and 2) crazy expensive (sorry, Future).

After a few heated discussions during our “Label Club*” meetings, we found that the basic, macro ingredients among the different brands within a category (e.g. pre-workout) were fairly close. That led us to the idea that, rather than spending money on “flavors”, we could create a natural complement to these drinks that would “keep it fresh” and, maybe, improve performance.

*(“Label Club”...very similar to your neighborhood “Book Club” except you all read the labels of fitness products and then compare notes and rage against one another in passionate fits of philosophical debate.)

Where's All The Periodic Table Of Elements Science Stuff?!

Right, well even though one of our founders did take Chemistry twice (fine…maybe it wasn't voluntary…maybe there was some disagreement over what constitutes “passing comprehension”), we are not scientists and we are definitely not going to pretend that we are (ugh…the Internet and its bothersome “get to the truth of things”). Anyway.

In all seriousness, we have done an incredible amount of research on the role salt, minerals and other active ingredients play in all cycles of “performance”. When combining that with our many years of pushing athletic and performance boundaries, we have built a foundation for meaningful experimentation.

That is the rigor we have put into developing and refining this product. And we continue to do so thanks to our Community of Customers and Partners.

And, should “this whole salt thing” go well, we are looking forward to having the resources to nerd out and go “full science” on this thing (chemical formulas and all)!

So Do I Need This?

No. Absolutely not. If you choose not to use this epic product…we guarantee you will be fine.

But…

We're extremely confident that you will find this product to be a wicked addition to your routine.

Imagine this…

It's another cruel Morning - dark, cold and maybe even a little rainy - and this mean, wildly impolite and incredibly persistent Morning is pulling you from your warm and nurturing bed (so, so comfortable) in order to “get it done” (once again).

[With us? Feeling the tears welling up?]

Well, what if that micro-boost you need is the bold, supportive partner of Dusted & Salty Performance? A “Hype Person” for your routine. A salty cheerleader. A trusted coach who can always be counted on for a supportive nudge and an always-believable, “we got this.”

Caring for Your Salt

Store at room temperature.

Note: watch for placement near “mean, sneaky and unexpected” heat sources.  For example, your:

  • Stove/hob (particularly high-volume burners).

  • High-heat kitchen appliances (e.g. air fryers and espresso machines).

  • Tops (warm air vent) of refrigerators.

For our High-Humidity Customers

Tried-and-True:

Just a few grains of uncooked, white rice added to your salt shaker or container.

Interesting:

You can make a sachet - cheese cloth, vegetable bag, tea bag, etc. - and fill it with parsley, cloves or other moisture-eating herb. Note: this can flavor your salt…so be careful…or don't and let us know about your awesome, new flavor combination.
