Dusted & Salty Coffee Ritual 〰️

Introduction

Some of you may have heard of the concept of Fatty Coffee, popularized by Bulletproof Coffee by Dave Asprey. This is not your typical coffee shop coffee (no sugary syrups here). This coffee is carefully curated for performance and cognitive function. If this is your first time hearing about the Fatty Coffee concept, I recommend you read our introduction guide.

This blend highlights the unique flavor salt adds to coffee. The quality of the salt and butter are critical for the best flavor.

We have carefully curated this recipe based on our preferred level of saltiness. To help you find your perfect balance, we've developed a Salty Scale, ranging from mild to bold. We've tried and tested our saltiness levels across all levels of saltiness.
Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 10g grass-fed butter

  • 1/4 teaspoon Dusted & Salty Himalayan pink salt (or your preferred Dusted & Salty flavour)

  • 5g high-quality MCT oil (C8 preferred for improved ketone production on a keto diet; MCT oil also provides benefits for non-keto diets.)

  • 8-10 oz brewed coffee (select high-quality beans, especially if in the US)

Process:

Pre-heat your mug.

  1. Add the grass-fed butter and swirl it around as it melts.

  2. Introduce the MCT oil.

  3. Sprinkle in the Himalayan pink salt (11-17 shakes of your salt shaker).  Our salt scale below.

  4. Slowly pour in the coffee, filling the mug halfway.

  5. Use a handheld mixer to blend until smooth and velvety.

  6. Incorporate the remaining coffee.

  7. Enjoy!

Stop right there. Put down the sugar shaker. Please do not add sugar; you will take away the benefits of Fatty Coffee and cause your blood sugar to spike. If you want a slight sweetness, you can use Monk fruit sweetener. Monk fruit is very sweet, so always add a little, then taste. Add more if needed.

Salt scale:

8-10 shakes = light-level saltiness

11-13 shakes = medium-level saltiness

14-17 shakes = high-level saltiness
